Hi, I’m Cody.
I read code all day, in terminals, in editors, in the windows agents work in. And I never found a monospace font I loved. Some came close. None felt made for the way we work now.
So I made one. Obel Mono has 1,618 characters, every one drawn in code and every one in its cell. It hides your API keys when you share your screen. It draws the symbols agents use without breaking the line. And it’s free, for anyone, forever.
I believe code is speech, and type is how it’s read. The letters you look at for hours should be made with care.
Typographic Systems is just me: one person in Bangkok, drawing type in code. Obel Sans is next.
I also make Fontsight, a free Chrome extension: point at any text on any website and it names the font, who made it, and the closest free one.
If you like the work, follow me on at @codycollier. I’ll share everything I make, and how I make it.
